Welcome, and thanks for visiting!
I started Dark Bites as a blog in 2012 as a place to house the many reviews, interviews and various articles I had written over the years. Most of my writings became orphaned at the passing of the publications which once gave them a place to hang out. Print and online publications such as Insidious Reflections, Dark Recesses Press, Hackers Source, Fear Zone, and others I probably don’t even remember anymore once thrived on giving new and established writers a voice, now lay by the wayside in that weird place where dead publications go to make way for others of their ilk. I eventually convinced myself my writing had nothing to do with the death of these indie publications, but who knows for sure?
I felt my writing deserved a place to live on, to be shared, and to host new stuff as it came out. Thus, Dark Bites was born to not only archive my previous journalistic efforts, but to also provide fresh content for folks as passionate about this dark thing of ours as myself. Starting out with Google Blogger, I‘ve since switched to a hosted WordPress site which I feel provides even more room to grow my dark corner of the web.
Although my entries are often posted in sporadic bursts, as time and life permits, I will continue to add to Dark Bites as often as I can to share my love for a genre which has given so much to me over the years.
You can also catch some of my writing over at Hell Notes and Rue Morgue Magazine along with fresh and exclusive content on this blog. Please feel free to subscribe to Dark Bites and share my posts as often as you can. This lets me know you’re enjoying what you’re reading and motivates me to keep going after and producing the kind of content you prefer to indulge in.
Last, but not least, if you’re a reviewer or interviewer yourself and want to see you work appear on this site, drop me a link at [email protected] and tell me what you have in mind. There’s always room for more bodies, er talent at Dark Bites. If you’re a creator of dark stories, films or art and want some help promoting your craft, drop me a line as well and I’d be happy to help boost the signal and poin some more eyeballs your way.
Until next time my fiends, stay hungry…stay dark.
